Weekly Art Diary: August 22 to 30, 2026

I'm still finding my footings with weekly blogs, but today is a little bit frustrating. I recently learned that my disability check is being cut in October while I'm still setting up Tellico Lake Art Studio. As someone living with PTSD, it's not easy to be fully functional and working especially during recovery phase. I'm still working towards recovery and being able to work longer. Next week, I'm going to plan out art commissions and research on what I need to do legally to be a freelancer. I'm still focused on healing via therapy, medication, and spiritual practices while I slowly transition to druidic life.

In the meantime, I managed to write more screenplay for Birmingham Legends while working on model sheets and continuing online classes. I thought I could make a test background for animation using colored inks. I preferred colored inks because they dry quicker even in humid environment which can be a nightmare with watercolors. As of writing, we're likely to start September with dew points of about 22 C (72 F). Mind this is dew point, not actual air temperature. It's still quite humid. The actual air temperatures are likely going to be 32 to 35 C (90 to 95 F). High humidity is just a nightmare to deal with while making watercolor paintings. I switched over to colored shellac inks, and I found they are much easier to work with in humid environment.

My goal is to finish screenwriting for my project before October and move on to making thumbnails for all scenes. I have a LOT of scenes to make thumbnails and plan out. In the meantime, I need to get moving with administrative works and get everything set up as a freelancer. I hope to make some artworks to show in Heavy Metal magazine this fall. However, where this will go, I am not sure. I'm just letting things unfold as I work on this and recover from PTSD. I want to set up art commission in September as well to supplement my income.

In the meantime, I've been sketching out some NSFW art, and I think I'd like to try making a digital painting featuring a love scene this weekend. Or even a battle scene.
