Lightbox and Heatwave

Now that this site is live for about a week now, I've been cleaning up my Bluesky account to be used as official business account. Since I was using it as personal account, it took me a while to clean it up. However, I was realizing that I was spending more time offline and just focusing more on latest weather news on Bluesky, I decided to pull the trigger.

Now that my Bluesky account is cleaned up, I plan on using it to share blog posts, artwork, and updates.

In the meantime, my lightbox and animation paper arrived yesterday. I got started on learning how to make animation by hand which I found that it's a challenge.

In this day and age, I'm learning how to do traditional animation because I despise AI. I just don't want this to sound so corporate, so screw SEO. I'm just writing this like a normal human being. I built this site with template and without AI. I don't want AI to do everything for me. I'd rather garden with my hands. Data centers had been taking a lot of tolls, and I just found it so unethical. My biggest gripe is AI's harm to environment. Although Hostinger has AI website, image, and text generator, I decided not to use them. At this point, a lot of website hosting platforms already put AI generator on their platform and finding a place with no generative AI is difficult. We're currently facing climate change crisis and record El Nino. At the time of writing, the El Nino already surpassed very strong threshold of +2.0 C as per NOAA. I've already had been seeing the effects of climate change here. AI data centers had been becoming major contributions to environmental destruction and climate change thank to sheer amount of resource they consume.

Earlier this week, a heat dome was hovering over Southeast US, and the oppressive heat and humidity had been taxing my portable AC. Thankfully, a weak cold front passed, bringing down heat and humidity some, but I still expect heat to stick around for quite a bit, even likely into autumn given the past few years. Navigating heatwave wasn't easy with how oppressive it had gotten. It had gotten to the point that I sweated just not doing anything. I'll see how the fall turns out.

At the end of the day, I want art made by humans. I've been trying to make a short clip by hand. I hope to make cel animation for short clip. In the meantime, I rewrote parts of script for Birmingham Legends, and I started making thumbnails for a scene to make test animation. As labor-intensive 2D animation can be, I'm making it out of love for art. Especially human art.

This website and blog are empty at this point because I'm just starting out, but this is my Internet garden. It will flourish over time. Just like a real garden.
